Dusty (Faunfields Capricious)

12.3 hh 25yo buckskin gelding.

We knew from the day he arrived that Dusty would be "a Keeper" Dusty has come from Ceduna way and has been best friend to at least 3 families so far. We know his previous owner will be missing him but her legs had well outgrown his legs. He is a cheery little guy and has that amazing capacity to suit the capability of the rider. Flashy for the competent rider, plod for the beginner. GOLD!!! Our daughter loves this pony more than life itself and has had many proud moments on him both at home and in the show ring.

14.1hh 15yo.Buckskin mare

Rocket aka Saturn Number 5. Originaly bought for our son, Rocket has become everyone's favorite. Nick had a heap of fun on her doing mostly showjumping and also taking her to Towoomba for the Interschool Nationals.
She is a great little all-rounder and our daughter has her earmarked as her's sooner rather than later.

15hh Australian Stock Horse Mare 22yo.

On loan from our dear friend Sarah, Lucy has come all the way from Gympie Qld. As Sarah says Lucy doesn't know how small or how old she is. She has "been there, done that" in dressage, showjumping and eventing. Dressage is her forte however she certainly knows all the moves. Suited to the competitive rider wanting to perfect their technique on a real quality schoolmaster.

14.1 hh 26yo cremello mare

The  new girl at Lanyon is Jess. She arrived a short time ago and needs a little TLC before she is ready to join the Lanyon team. She comes with many great references so watch this space.

Lochie (Lochsloy Aristocrat)

14.1 hh Brown Welsh Cob 23 y.o.

We bought Lochie in 2000 from Murray Bridge knowing little of his history except that he had done some hacking including an outing at The Royal Adelaide Show.

We soon discovered that everything about this little guy was big. Big movement, big personality and a big heart. Although the flatwork education was there Lochie had minimal exposure to jumping so the job fell to me to rectify this. We had soon mastered the basics of show jumping when one of Geoff's pupils Tony suggested we attend a hunt with Fleurieu Hunt Club. We arrived bright and early at the Waitpinga Hunt Grounds where an experienced group of Combined Hunt Club members had amassed.

As I sat on Lochie amongst the 16-17 hh hunters the Master looked directly at us during the briefing and warned.."There are 66 jumps on this hunt and 60 of them are compulsory. I hope your pony can jump" (So do I, I thought fervently). Lochie gave me the ride of my life, effortlessly matching the bigger horses' stride and sailing over every jump.

Lochie has gone on to take out many prizes in showjumping and Hunter Hurdler classes but the highlight had to be taking out the Second Prize in The Section Fours at The Royal Adelaide Show.

Lochie true to form puffed his little chest out as he walked onto the Main Arena and looked a good 2 hands taller by the time we started.

Lochie is always popular with his pupils and is always baggsed well ahead for the Jumping Clinics. He is now Nick's number one man for jumping.

Lochie is one those special ponies who adjusts according to the ability of his rider and looks after the welfare of the less experienced.

Lollypop ( Lanyon Sugar Rush )

Lollypop 13.2 hh Palomino Welsh/Quarter Pony 10yo Mare

Geoff went to Geelong to buy this pony as we were impressed with her breeding and temperament. She loves to jump and is making a pretty little show hunter too. Lollypop started her show career and has won her way out of the Encourage Ring after 2 shows. She has had great success in the open show ring qualifying for and competing at The Royal Adelaide Show in 2013. She does particularly well in hunter classes and working hunter classes. She took our son to success at interschool competitions, combined training, show jumping and dressage. She is great fun to trail ride also and even gets used as a lead horse to pony around green horses .What a super little allrounder. We think her  show name "Lanyon Sugar Rush " suits her very well.

Chook aka Orpington

20yo.Black TB Mare We were really glad the day Chook arrived but probably not as glad as her.Her owner now lives in Brisbane and she kindly offered us the use of her old friend. Before becoming ensconced into the Lanyon family poor chook had fallen on hard times and it was a straggly looking speciman who was delivered to us from the north of Adelaide.

Chook was quick to avail herself of the amenities and cuisine at Lanyon and she certainly looks a million bucks now.

Chook has done it all in her time and now she's ready to do it all again.Showjumping, dressage, hacking or just cruising about the property. It's all in a days work to this girl.
